Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) in the School of Public Health (Ref: 515123), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in public health, medical science or related disciplines, with relevant post-doctoral work experience in managing large-scale research projects. They should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience in running health-related research projects including multi-site international studies or community-based studies would be advantageous.
The appointee will oversee various component projects in the infectious disease epidemiology research group, and manage the operation, coordination and logistics of a wide range of research processes and activities. He/She will coordinate participant enrolment in outreach centres and the community; ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice and other regulatory requirements; liaise with site partners, funding agencies and international collaborators; draft reports; assist in chain management of clinical specimens; assist in quality assurance of data, budget planning, grant administration, financial control and reporting; and perform other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
