The Simmons University Department of Biology invites applications for a full-time contract (non-tenure track) faculty position in Exercise Science, beginning Fall 2022. We are looking for an energetic and independent colleague with a passion for teaching who can thrive in the environment of a small urban liberal arts college. Job Summary:

This Boston-based 10-month contract (non-tenure) faculty position will report to the Exercise Science Program Director. This role involves teaching lectures and/or labs in Exercise Science. Teaching Responsibilities include seven units of teaching lectures and/or labs in courses related to the Exercise Science major, the Biology Department, or in the General Education program (PLAN).

This faculty position will also entail service-related responsibilities, including;
  • Advising and mentoring students majoring in Exercise Science on course selection, professional and career pathways, and academic success.
  • Serving on departmental, college and/or university committees.
  • Developing existing and new programs and curricula.


  • Masters degree in Exercise Science or related discipline required.
  • Doctorate degree in Exercise Science or related discipline preferred.
  • Professional certification in Exercise Science (EPc, CEP, CSCS) preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in teaching exercise science lecture and lab courses preferred.
  • Experience with internship requirements and practices for exercise science students preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities, abilities, and perspectives.
