Supervise 6-8 practicum students per term (40%); teach undergraduate music therapy courses (1.5-2 course credits per term) (40%); assist with student advising (10%); assist with program administration (10%). This is a nine-month, temporary titled position.  The successful candidate is primarily responsible for

  1. Supervising practicum students across several sites including early childhood development, special education, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, older adults and memory care, adolescent and adult psychiatric care, and medical rehabilitation. Supervision includes leading and co-leading sessions with students, modeling techniques for students, and observation of students, as well as grading student clinical assignments and filing necessary documentation. Clinical assignments for each student include researching the population, conducting an assessment, establishing a goal and objectives, writing a treatment plan, writing sessions plans and notes, and compiling a clinical file with a final summary of client progress.
  2. Instruction of the following courses or some combination thereof:
    • Music Therapy Musical Foundations
    • Intro to Music Therapy Fieldwork
    • MT in Medical and Mental Health
    • Other courses as appropriate based on need and background/expertise of the candidate.

The position additionally includes some student advising, as well as assisting in coordinating and administering the music therapy program. The successful candidate may be asked to take a CMTE relevant to their teaching responsibilities, such as supervision, clinical and music skills, or professional ethics. A TB screening may be required.
