General responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of instructional technology, including classroom technology, simulation systems, the Learning Management System (LMS), lecture capture tools, video conferencing tools and online proctoring tools.
- Develop programs, activities, workshops and demonstrations to engage faculty in the design, development, and integration of technology into their courses and training programs.
- Work with faculty on needs assessments, design strategies, learning styles, instructional strategies and course design for technology-based learning.
- Work with faculty to plan, design, develop and revise LMS courses for undergraduate and graduate students for face-to-face, hybrid and online courses.
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance and support of the various simulation systems used for teaching purposes.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop simulation exercises which support the curriculum.
- Develop procedures to achieve and maintain the highest level of quality control for the simulation systems to ensure optimal operation of these systems.
- Responsible for the design, maintenance and support of all classroom and conference audio/visual equipment.
- Manage the IT Service Desk. Ensure the Service Desk is providing excellent customer service, high quality technical support and valuable services to students, faculty and staff.
- Mange conference room audio/visual equipment and the campus’ digital signage system.
- Provide support for campus events which require the use of audio/visual equipment.
- Lead successful projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
- Create, implement and maintain related documentation, policies and procedures.
- Prepare technology roadmaps, annual budgets, and comprehensive project plans.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Educational Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience using and supporting academic, classroom and instructional technologies.
- Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Desire2Learn or Moodle.
- Minimum of six (6) years or more of experience managing technical staff.
- Knowledge of online instructional design including principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of and interest in leading-edge academic technologies (e.g., mobile, open content, MOOCs, etc.).
- Working knowledge of an IT Service Management framework.
- Experience working hands-on with laptops, PC's, multi-media equipment and video conferencing systems.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and relationship building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Educational Technology or a related field.
- Experience in a higher education setting strongly preferred.
- Experience installing, operating and maintaining simulation systems for training purposes.
- Holds an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate.
Salary: $100,000 to $110,000. The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under FLSA. The Academy is not sponsoring immigration visas at this time.
