Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of Assistant Dean of Students & Title IX Coordinator!

 

This position contributes to the Division of Campus Life by: providing strategic leadership and supporting student development and success; overseeing the Title IX policy and processes; overseeing the College's management and implementation of the student conduct process; and enhancing the student experience through the assessment of program, department, and division strategic learning outcomes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Advising the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer of campus, regional, and national trends in student affairs practice
  • Responding to and communicating with parents and families of students regarding questions, concerns, complaints or requests for information
  • Assisting in the coordination and implementation of the new student orientation programs
  • Supporting Student Engagement and Residential Living personnel and activities
  • Participating as a member of the college's Student Intervention Team 
  • Co-advising student government
  • Processing all reported incidents of gender misconduct, harassment, or violence according to College policy
  • Coordinating interim accommodations for parties experiencing harassment, violence or discrimination
  • Providing annual training to designated members of the community
  • Ensuring that all students are provided opportunities to engage in annual training consistent with Title IX regulations and best practices
  • Ensuring the College's policy complies with federal regulations
  • Maintaining appropriate records, tracking data, and providing related statistical information to College officials pertaining to reports of violence and related misconduct

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, student development, counseling, or related field
  • Experience with Title IX complaints, investigations and accommodations
  • Title IX Certification preferred
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, case management, and crisis and emergency management desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work within the culture of the College
  • Knowledge of Title IX regulations and associated processes
  • Proven training, coaching, mentoring abilities
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs, including Google Platform, Excel and Web Access
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, analyzing and development skills
