The Manager, Campus Security & Auxiliary Operations provides administrative oversight and leadership for campus safety and risk management programs and related initiatives and activities, including building and life safety compliance (OSHA, ADA and fire safety) on the South Lake and Sumter campuses. Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain departmental administrative processes; Assist in the planning, preparation, and implementation of new policies and procedures, training, and emergency plans; Maintain working knowledge of relevant federal laws (Clery Act, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act, FERPA)

Supervise and participate in the planning processes of major campus events and special events in consultation with the Executive Director and appropriate College departments; Assist in supervising special events and coordinate safety officer schedules; prepare safety and evacuation plans; Participate in major campus events; including but not limited to Convocation and Commencement.

Participate in division, college, or professional committees as assigned, or in the absence of the Executive Director.

Serve as a vital front-line and strategic member of the College's professional staff; Works to further the strategic goals of Campus Safety and the College through thoughtful interactions with all members of the College community.

Assist in preparing/revising safety, evacuation and continuing operations plans.

Assist in creating and facilitating training for students, faculty, and staff on crime, safety, and risk management including compliance with annual evacuation/emergency drills.

Work collaboratively with all areas of the college in addressing safety and security concerns, providing guidance and advice to ensure consistent enforcement of college policies and procedures relating to safety and security.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities : up to 3 FTE

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institution required in related field of study; Bachelor's degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Minimum Training / Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement, private security, military police or public safety management and progressively responsible supervisory roles. Experience working in higher education preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, policies and legal resources relating to but not limited to th Clery Act and Title IX.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate policies and procedures and recommend revisions as necessary

Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to implement and sustain, best practices in developing safety and security programs.

Promote a common purpose consistent with stated College goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.

Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.

Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.

Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
