The University of Pittsburgh Office of Admissions and Financial Aid is seeking a qualified Enrollment Services Manager (ESM) for Maryland/Virginia/District of Columbia (MD/VA/DC). The ESM primarily serves prospective undergraduate students in/from MD/VA/DC and must live in MD/VA/DC.

The ESM is responsible for the strategic and operational management of responsibilities, activities, and services related to the successful recruitment, selection, enrollment, transition, and retention of prospective undergraduate students to Pitt. Responsibilities include serving as a member of the undergraduate admissions committee; making admissions decisions; managing a recruitment territory that includes daily decision making concerning where and when to focus individual time and resources with regards to planning, selection and coordination of visits to high schools, college fairs, community based organizations, community colleges, etc. within that territory, prospect generation, and application and yield enhancement management; working in collaboration with the various academic and support units to plan, develop and coordinate programs and services that assist students in the successful completion of their academic and out of class experiences.

Responsibilities also include planning and coordinating recruitment engagement activities with University alumni in MD/VA/DC, developing and interpreting policies for recruitment and other programs and services to internal and external constituents, implementing quality improvement practices to support these policies, and resolving complex issues and problems related to the entire spectrum of enrollment services.

The ESM creates and provides a wide array of consultative services to prospective and current students and their families including representing the University at recruitment and enrollment outreach events, advising on the admissions and/or enrollment processes, evaluating credentials, and making admissions decisions of student applications for undergraduate admission.

The ESM is responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on various statistics and making adjustments based on their analysis of these statistics, and coordinating with other University departments to provide needed services; develops and presents information in a variety of forums, coordinating with high schools and community groups, as appropriate; develops and coordinates campus visitation programs; creates, coordinates and initiates communications and engagement opportunities for his/her recruitment territory include admission recruitment, outreach, prospect development and generation, application review and management, and other special projects.

The ESM is required to routinely make independent decisions and judgments as well as apply critical thinking skills in making admissions decisions, counseling students and families appropriately, and territory management decisions that directly impact Pitt's ability to successfully enroll each year's new class.

An ESM represents the University to a variety of audiences including students, families, high school and community college counselors, community based organizations and alumni.

The ideal and successful candidate will understand, support, and embrace the benefits of a diverse campus community and value the perspective of others.

The ESM must be willing to serve and travel within MD/VA/DC to visit students, families, high schools, community colleges, and community based organizations. Requires additional travel to Pittsburgh for training as well as within the continental US for strategic, operational, recruitment and/or other meetings.

Position requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience; good communications, organization, decision-making skills, and knowledge of admissions and financial aid procedures. Attention to detail is a must. Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
