Clery Director, Office of the Vice President

Job Overview

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services, and direct supervision of the Associate Vice President of Administration, the Clery Director and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) compliance officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and comprehensive planning, development, implementation and management of two regulatory compliance programs for the university; the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and the DFSCA /EDGAR Part 86 (DFSCA/Part 86). As the university's senior subject matter expert on Clery and DFSCA requirements and best practices, the Director provides administrative oversight of these compliance programs, policies and procedures for CSUSM.

The Director has the responsibility, authority and independence to conduct compliance monitoring activities across all university departments, divisions and locations in order to ensure appropriate interpretation and implementation of applicable regulations, CSU Chancellor's Office Policy (e.g. Executive Order 1107) and university policies for these compliance programs. This position works collaboratively with senior institutional leadership, management and other administrators and entities as appropriate to ensure effective development and administration of university Clery and DFSCA compliance policies.

This is a full time, exempt position, which will serve at the pleasure of the President.
