Founded in 1994 and awarded the University title in 2016, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is a publicly funded university, dedicated to the advancement of learning and teaching through a diverse offering of academic and research programmes up to doctoral level in teacher education and complementary disciplines, such as the social sciences and humanities.  The University aspires to further enhance its role as a leading university in the Asia Pacific region and beyond, with a focus on educational research, development and innovation, and recognized for its excellence in nurturing outstanding and caring professionals as well as the impact of scholarship.

President

As chief executive of the University, the President will be responsible to the Council for the management and administration of the University.  In addition, the President will also be responsible for the effective implementation of the Strategic Plan of the University. 

The ideal candidate should be a scholar with a track record of performance and achievements in the higher education sector. He/She should have passion for education in leading the University to realise its unique mission; visionary and innovative leadership, management and organisational skills. Good academic training, professional qualifications, strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills are important.  A good knowledge of the Chinese culture and values, the Hong Kong education system and the local context and strong connection to the education sectors in Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas are preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Remuneration package will be highly competitive and attractive fringe benefits will be offered.

The terms for the initial contract will normally be five years, which will be renewable by mutual agreement.
