Chapman University seeks applications for August 2022 for Part-time Spanish Lecturers in the Department of World Languages and Cultures within Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. First day of instruction is August 29th, 2022.

Qualifications

Requirements:
• M.A. in Spanish or related field.
• Demonstrate ability to teach beginning and intermediate level Spanish language courses face to face and online.
• Native or near-native command of both Spanish and English.
• Minimum two years teaching experience at higher education level in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or two Spanish courses per semester as needed, hold office hours, and support college policies and procedures.
• Be available to teach MWF 8-1pm.
• Faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:
o Commitment to student retention and success.
o Commitment to development and assessment of student learning.
o Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning.
o Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and outside the classroom.
o Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
