The Department of Oncology at Wayne State University and the Karmanos Cancer Institute Molecular Imaging Program has an opening for for a faculty position with a focus on cancer imaging and/or theranostics research. The KCI & The Department of Oncology's MI program is committed to the advancement of theranostics through agent and instrumentation development with the goal of translating these strategies to clinical application.

Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Establish intra- and interprogrammatic collaborations within Oncology's four research programs, which includes Molecular Imaging, Tumor Biology and Microenvironment, Molecular Therapeutics, Population Studies and Disparities Research. Must demonstrate breadth of preparation, as exemplified by significant clinical and/or research experience resulting in high impact publications in biomedical research. Obtain grant funding (e.g., NIH award(s)), and engage in multidisciplinary research. Participation in the teaching programs of the
Department of Oncology, the Karmanos Institute, the School of Medicine, and the University as well as expanding independent, extramurally funded research program. Conduct independent research in line with the goals of the Department of Oncology
including maintaining a strong record of accomplishments and the ability to secure external funding that will provide salary support as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator

Unique Duties
Committed to excellence in research, teaching, and mentoring of students in multi- disciplinary biomedical research.

Qualifications
Multidisciplinary experience that can be applied to the development of molecular imaging approaches and theranostics research for cancer management and response assessment as well as a Ph.D., M.D. and/or M.D. Ph.D degree(s) with experience in a relevant field and/or potential and trajectory.
If MD required must have valid Michigan medical license.

Candidates are expected to establish an independent research program and participate in our center-wide efforts to translate novel theranostic technologies into clinical practice
