Gettysburg College seeks a collaborative, committed professional to serve as its new Associate Director of Alumni Relations for Diversity, Inclusion & Young Alumni Programs. The ideal candidate will have experience with - and enthusiasm for - working with diverse populations, developing innovative programming, and successfully managing volunteers. The Associate Director will be a valued member of the alumni relations team that will take the lead in driving alumni engagement, which will be a key component of the College’s new Comprehensive Campaign.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point person with the College’s BOLD (Burgians of the Last Decade) Council, which consists of 25 volunteers.
  • Serve as the point person with the College’s Gettysburg Alumni of Color Council (a new volunteer group that began forming in 2020), which consists of 15-25 volunteers.
  • Create, design and implement programming for young (aka BOLD) alumni.
  • Develop opportunities for identity affinity groups (e.g., First Generation graduate alumni, LGBTQA) to engage with the College and connect with current students.
  • Support philanthropic efforts at the College, particularly those that benefit diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as those that focus on young alumni giving.
  • Travel as necessary to meet with volunteers and implement off-campus events.
  • Sometimes work hours that align with volunteers’ availability (e.g., evening Zoom calls)

This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position with a competitive salary complemented by an available benefits package including medical and dental insurance, 22 vacation days, 403(b) retirement contributions, dependent tuition benefits, and parent leave. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in successful volunteer management and/or team building, along with working with underrepresented populations is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse constituencies and design and implement programming
  • A skill-set that allows the assumption of potential new duties and responsibilities to grow professionally is desired
  • Attention to detail and organization with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Creativity, and ability to maintain positive and productive relationships with constituents
  • Fundraising experience is a plus
  • Ability to work collegially as a team member
