Position Description:

 

The Science and Mathematics faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts on the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University invite applications to establish a pool for science Faculty Associates for the 2022-2023 academic year. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry, physics and/or related disciplines; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, genetics, physics or related field at time of appointment
  • Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in biology, chemistry, genetics, physics or related field
  • One-year full-time teaching experience in post-secondary environment
  • Experience teaching in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Experience working in collaborative environments within and across disciplines
  • Demonstrated success meeting the needs of underrepresented student and/or diverse communities
