Overview
Arts and Science is seeking a talented Laboratory Facilities Manager to join Biology. This individual will develop and manage facilities operations; develop policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency. Direct receiving room and stockroom operations, activities and staff. Determine need for upgrade or replacement of equipment and make recommendations based on current research methods. Direct departmental safety program; ensure adherence to government regulations.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in laboratory technology or a science related field
Required Experience:
5+ years research-assistance related experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience with technical facility management and staff supervision.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, and written and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals at all levels. Knowledge of advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Will be required to obtain a Certificate of Fitness.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of building utilities including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems preferred.Qualifications
