MEDIA DESIGNER

Salary:

Minimum $46,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Job Summary:

This position will work closely with the Department Administrator, Undergraduate Adviser, and Faculty/Staff, creating content for the website, newsletters, outreach activities, and course/event promotion.

Responsibilities:

Designs and develops multimedia solutions and materials in collaboration with other content creators, adhering to project timelines and developing and posting content for a specified unit in support of visually and contextually communicating messages aligned with unit strategy.
  • 25% Conceptualizes, plans, designs, and executes multimedia solutions for a specific work unit that may be used through various platforms in collaboration with stakeholders and other content creation staff
  • 15% Contributes to the development of communication, event, and marketing materials to fit into the overall strategy of the work unit
  • 5% Tracks and manages timelines and deliverables related to communication projects
  • 20% Directs operational activities for multiple communication platforms and posts content within a work unit that may include websites, social media, written/illustrative communications, and online tools
  • 10% Develops communication, event, and marketing strategies and materials to align with the overall work unit strategic initiative
  • 5% Develops and facilitates trainings for staff and customers regarding technology options and best practices
  • 5% Manage and track keys for offices and GNS+ space
  • 5% Responsible for department supplies and maintains inventory
  • 5% Provide administrative support to the Department Administrator and Chair
  • 5% Attend and serve on department committees/meetings as needed

Education:

Preferred
Associate's Degree
Graphic Design or related field

Qualifications:

Required:
High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
Expertise in designing diverse marketing and communications tactics such as print collateral, web, ads and social media.
Proven ability to work on multiple, simultaneous projects in a detail-oriented environment and contribute to the success of the entire team.
Proven ability to be self-directed and to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical capabilities.

Ability to use GIFs and Memes to communicate with Admin Team Members appropriately.
