Our Student Accounts team ensures that student tuition, billing, receivables and collections are processed efficiently and effectively. They support students and their families in navigating the payment process. The Lead Coordinator is one of a team that acts as the first point of contact for visitors and incoming inquiries, creating an environment of trust and respect where students can get their billing questions answered. Responsibilities include:

  • Review, maintain and post general accounting transactions to student records
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure excess financial aid is processed correctly.
  • Works to resolve escalated questions or issues in partnership with students, families, faculty and staff, ensuring that all receive prompt and respectful service.
  • In partnership with team members, act as the first contact at the cashier window and respond to email and phone inquiries to Student Accounts.
  • Create and execute regular electronic communications to students, faculty and/or staff regarding orientation materials, Summary of Financial Procedures, Semester Check Lists, and flyers, following up with those that don’t respond as required.
  • Attend registration and orientation events where Student Accounts acts as a resource to students and a subject matter expert for student, faculty and staff questions.
  • Process a high volume of documents and information with exceptionally high accuracy. Some of the processing duties include:
    • Analyze and process Leave of Absence and Cancel/Defer reports, and Return to Title IV funds reports from financial aid, recording Title IV Authorizations in Banner.
    • Process third party invoices and payments and complete scholarship reporting.
    • Collaborate with financial aid on outside scholarship reporting, processing payments and reconciliations.
    • Process excess financial aid refunds.
    • Complete check requests and returning third party payments and/or scholarships.
    • Process employer reimbursements and communicate the information to financial aid.
    • Process study abroad charges, payments and invoices to accounts payable for three party payments..
  • Provide backup for Student Account team members during vacations and absences.
  • Collaborate with team members to pick up and deliver mail to the post office.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in business or a related area.
  • Three (3) years of customer service experience.
  • One (1) year of general ledger account reconciliation experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based computer systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Number aptitude.
  • Experience working with individuals to resolve their billing or collections questions.
