Stanford University is seeking a Student Care Coordinator to provide support for case management and risk assessment for the Dean of Students (DoS) Office. Working closely with the Senior Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students (SAVP) along with the entire Dean of Students team, this position provides follow-up and logistical support to individual students and to student groups, fostering experiences that build community and promote belonging and supporting Our Most Important Work.

In this role you will:
  • Provide administrative support for all reported student cases referred to the Dean of Students Office, overseeing documentation of case management system (Maxient) and interventions in a timely manner;
    • Serve as a member of the Weekly Incident Debrief (WID), assisting with compiling, organizing, and prioritizing weekly student incidents to discuss with relevant campus partners;
    • Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), assisting with tracking, documenting and following up on BIT interventions to ensure continuity of care on a case-by-case basis;
    • Prepare reports, statistics, assessments, evaluations, and presentations;
  • Serve as the Process Resource (as described in the Involuntary Leave of Absence and Return Policy) and be available to answer any student questions about the process set forth in the Policy from referral through reenrollment;
    • Administer documentation and reporting throughout the ILOA and Return process, and administer semi-annual reporting of the process;
  • Advise students on a range of issues, and as appropriate, connect them to resources on matters including, but not limited to academic progress, academic program policies, career plans, accessibility, community standards, etc., in order to assist them in making informed decisions;
  • Assist with maintaining, and researching a directory of resource information for students that fosters positive mental health and well-being and flourishing;
    • Create tools that enhance information on the Dean of Students website and social media; and,
  • Assist with developing evidence-based training and assessment that address contemporary concerns in a college population and other educational initiatives for faculty, staff and students;
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, student satisfaction surveys and other methods of data collection all to promote further outreach, education and campus well-being initiatives.


To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.
  • Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
  • Understanding of financial transactions.
  • Ability to understand and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team


In addition, preferred requirements include:
  • Master's degree in Education; Student Development; Counseling; Social Work or a related field.
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Experience in collaborative work with other professional colleagues.
  • Understanding of student developmental theory.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
  • Demonstrated skills in critical incident and crisis management.
  • Solid knowledge of mental health issues in college population.
  • Strong project management skills.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This position may require evening and weekend hours, as needed, and may require rotational on-call assignments.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days of onsite work.
