Job Summary

The Program in Environmental Design (ENVD) at the University of Colorado, Boulder is pleased to invite applications for a full-time Teaching Professor position (Non-Tenure Track). We seek candidates with broad skills in Environmental Design and the ability to teach courses in multiple disciplines including Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainable Planning and Urban Design and Environmental Product Design. A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to teach in a variety of modalities including large lectures, studio and seminar courses. Positions are expected to begin in August 2022.

The program has been cultivating critical and creative thinkers, designers, and planners for over 50 years and has more than 4,300 alumni. The ENVD program is well renowned and is committed to spearheading the next generation of environmental designers by integrating knowledge of the built and natural environments.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Develop and teach courses at all levels in the curriculum.
  • We seek someone who will enhance undergraduate scholarly endeavors in addition to training students for careers in professional fields.

What We Can Offer
  • This position is 9 months/100% full-time equivalent with a salary of $76,000-$78,000.
  • Summer salary may also be available. A willingness to teach a summer class is a plus.
  • A typical workload for Teaching Professors is 80% teaching and 20% service/leadership. All faculty are expected to participate in department committees and department governance.
  • Research appointments may be considered for candidates with previously published research and strong, ongoing projects.
  • A relocation allowance of up to $4,000 is available.

What We Require
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or extensive professional experience.
  • Minimum of five academic years of teaching experience, full-time equivalent.
