The Assistant Dean for Awards and Enrollment Management, reporting to the Dean of the South Carolina Honors College (SCHC), oversees several aspects of the College. The incumbent leads the College’s recruiting efforts for freshmen admission in collaboration with the Admissions Office; leads recruiting, application, and selection for transfer admission; and oversees the College scholarship awards process. The incumbent oversees National Fellowship and Scholar Programs (NFSP), leads the University’s involvement in national fellowship and scholarship competitions, and manages the direction of an enhanced undergraduate experience for the institution’s Top Scholars: Carolina, Stamps, McNair, 1801 and Horseshoe Scholars. The incumbent provides supervision, leadership, and guidance for staff working with College recruiting and scholarships, and for NFSP personnel who provide national fellowship advisement and competition support to students; engages faculty and staff in the campus processes; and oversees a four-year plan of programs, services, and advisement for Top Scholars. The Assistant Dean is responsible for NFSP budgets, personnel, facilities, research, evaluation, working with faculty in a variety of disciplines, and advising the SCHC Dean, the University Provost, President and their teams regarding the progress of USC students in national fellowship competitions and other related endeavors. This position is part of the College leadership team.
