Job Description:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive experiential learning plan to support student, industry, and campus engagement in immersive experiences and experiential learning opportunities. The engagement plan focuses on highlighting the benefits of student participation in meaningful experiences and reflection on and off campus. The incumbent will create strategies, programs, connections, and resources to support competency development that position students to be competitive in the global economy. The position stays current with recent trends, resources, and compliance issues addressing student career issues, experiential education, and incorporates information into the career center. Collaborates with functional areas of the career center and areas of the university to provide coordinated management of services. Serves as a member of the career center’s advisory leadership team and represents the career center in various settings.

Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to full-time professional staff members, as well as student assistants and/or graduate students to support career inclusion and experiential learning. The individual will oversee the operations of experiential education efforts, career inclusion for specific populations, and manages a budget to support the assigned team infrastructures.

Creates pathways for experiential education collaborations and standards within curricular and co-curricular experiences. Partners with academic and research departments on campus to capture information related to existing internships, mentorship, research, and other experiential learning offerings. The position will aid staff in tailoring career readiness integration for students in specific populations. Develops and maintains relationships and resources with employers, alumni, and industry partners who provide experiential learning and post-graduation opportunities for students.

The individual provides career coaching, training and educational resources for students, alumni, staff and employers. Delivers outreach presentations to classes and organizations to advance experiential learning and career development outcomes. Responsible for coordinating programs and promoting services at the university aimed at providing work-based learning opportunities for students, professional competency development and reflection on learning. Conducts various consultations and meetings to advance experiential learning engagement.

Oversees assessments, data tracking and analysis relative to experiential learning and specific population outreach, planning, and engagement activities. Manages a repository of on and off campus experiences for student engagement and university promotions. Develops collateral and web content to highlight experiential education available at the university. Provides accurate reports and data related to experiential learning and stakeholder engagement.

Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor and higher authorities in the department and division. Lives out the career center’s values in all aspects of their job functions.

Expected Salary:

$70,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, higher education, human resources, psychology, marketing, management or related field
- Experience in Career Services setting or industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, volunteer coordination, experiential learning, high impact practices, career services, campus outreach, grant-writing, and experience working with employers/student populations
- Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to provide intentional and ethical coaching to students
- Ability to integrate student development and career development theories when working with students
- Multicultural competency and sensitivity
- Incumbent should be energetic, flexible, organized, and innovative
- Strong interest in working with employer to student education and consulting with employers
