Oregon Tech’s Retention Services Department is seeking a
qualified applicant to fulfill the role of Assistant Director. The
Assistant Director of Academic Advising & Retention plays a key
role in developing and implementing advising programs, supervising
the team of professional advising staff, and advising students.
This position supports management of the Klamath Falls, Portland
Metro and Online academic advising teams and retention staff. As
member of department leadership team, the Assistant Director will
have a responsibility for ensuring exceptional equity-minded
student support services that facilitate student retention, degree
attainment, and satisfaction. In collaboration/coordination with
the A/R Director, the Assistant Director liaisons with departments
across campus (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Institutional Research,
Student Affairs, Academic Affairs and faculty) to identify,
research, and implement specific retention goals. Will also work in
tandem with the Director in the collection of data, creation of
reports, and alterations to current program to better meet student
needs.
In addition to these responsibilities, The Assistant Director is point of contact for Civitas, including implementation and software maintenance and coordinate technical assistance and training as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in management, program management, IT or related field.
- Prior experience with CRM
- Foundational knowledge of software and data skills
Additional Requirements:
- Master’s degree in related field.
- Experience with Banner, Canvas, Slate and Civitas
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational and interpersonal skills
- The capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines
