Job Description

The primary duties of this position require data entry of sample information into the soil testing database, maintain log of daily run data, generate and mail out test reports, ensure all the samples processed by the soil and plant testing labs are billed, and payment collected and accounted for. The person hired is responsible for maintaining and overseeing financial records and accounts for the labs, following all university policies for proper procedures, and processing the invoices, either to other university-related clientele or those outside the system. Assist with logging in of samples received and mailing supplies to County Extension Offices and firms that does business with us. Daily correspondence via email, and communication with clientele (directly or over the phone) in answering questions regarding the services provided by the labs and sample submission. Expected to conduct the office matters related to the testing labs with courtesy and professionalism, order supplies via University’s E-Procurement website, and there will be some necessity to produce promotional material for the benefit of promoting the lab and the services it provides. Coordination with other university entities and offices, such as the Division of Plant Sciences fiscal office, will be necessary and pleasant, helpful communication is expected at all times.

This position will also handle routine, office concerns and matters when called upon under the direction of the lab director and be knowledgeable about his/her calendar and commitments for coordinating purposes. Complications should be brought to the attention of the supervisor for handling.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $13.27 - $22.73 per hour

Grade: GGS-006

Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in Agriculture is preferred.
