Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Education

The School of Arts and Sciences at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College seeks to hire an Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Education, with appointment beginning August 1, 2022. Applicants with a Doctorate in Education, Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field are preferred and would be considered for the rank of Assistant Professor, a tenure-track 10-month faculty position. Individuals with a Master’s in Education, Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field will be considered and would be appointed at the rank of Lecturer, a non-tenure-track 10-month faculty appointment. Position is open until filled.

This position will be housed in the Department of Education and Wellness and will teach courses in educational foundations and/or elementary science education. The courses to be offered may include both traditional in-class/on-ground courses, as well as online offerings. Faculty at ABAC are evaluated on their efforts in teaching, advising, student engagement, scholarship, and service. 

The ideal candidate will have: Experience teaching at the university level; Experience or expertise in educational foundations, physical science, environmental science, and/or elementary education; Three or more years of teaching experience at the elementary or middle school level; and A Doctorate in Education, Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field. While a doctorate degree is preferred, applicants are required to have at least a master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
