Job Summary:

This position will be located on the UW Madison campus as part of the UW-Madison Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This position is being hired to start Aug 1, 2022, in anticipation of being ready to teach and complete other duties the start of the fall academic semester. The faculty member hired will be expected to spend the majority of their time teaching, providing leadership and direct patient care at University Health Services, and managing the first-year clinical learning experiences. Duties will include providing classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction associated with more than one lecture or laboratory course, assisting with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction, and working with partners across and beyond campus . Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online, and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.

Responsibilities:

1. Clinical and University Health Services leadership -25%
2. Teaching DPT students and other health care professionals - 20%
3. Teaching and administrative duties relative to clinical education and teaching ethics courses - 20%
4. Managing administrative duties with interprofessional programming - 5%
5. Program service - 5%
6. Scholarship and other - 25%

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:

Required
PhD or other terminal degree, or a degree at least one level above the level of instruction, or otherwise approved as qualified by the Dean

Doctor of Physical Therapy or related terminal degree. A bachelor's or master's degree in PT along with a PhD, DSC, or EDd would be considered.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Ability to teach a variety of topics from clinical related courses (physical agents) to professional development seminars.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to create, present, and assess effectiveness of external continuing education offerings including ethics course to PTs and PTAs in WI.
- Adult learning characteristics demonstrating problem solving abilities, initiative, and seeking answers.
- Able to work well with others on the team and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals.

Preferred:
- 2-3+ years' of teaching in higher education or related field.
- Experience with classroom management platforms
- 2-3+ years' experience in clinical teaching and leadership with the ability to vision and grow PT care in the University Health Services.
- Experience working with students in clinical education and performing administrative duties
