Job Summary: The Department of Biomedical Sciences (DBMS) at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Quillen College of Medicine, invites applications for multiple full-time tenure track open rank faculty positions. Based on the existing strengths in cardiovascular/renal, infectious disease/inflammation, neuroscience and cancer research areas, we encourage applications from individuals with research expertise in one or more of these areas. Cluster or group hiring in the areas of departmental strengths will also be considered.
Preference will be given to those applicants who have a strong
publication record and nationally competitive research program.
Applicants with extramural funding through the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) or who are eligible to apply for VA funding
are encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to engage in basic
and translational research, sustain independent research funding,
publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals, and participate in
teaching of medical and graduate students. Administrative duties
may include serving on Departmental, College and University
committees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise and ability to build a nationally competitive research program which hosts trainees and collaborates within as well as outside the department.
Experience in teaching medical and biomedical courses or the willingness to develop such skills is required.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree
Postdoctoral research experience.
For Associate/Full Professor, evidence of established research program with extramural funding is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Nationally funded research program
Salary: Competitive starting salary commensurate with education and experience.
