BASIC FUNCTION:
As Salve Regina University advances the university-wide strategic planning effort, the Director of Academic Operations, plays a critical role in supporting the provost's agenda to enhance and strengthen operational management of academic affairs. Working collaboratively with a varied and nuanced set of constituents both in and outside the academic affairs division, the Director of Academic Operations, works to ensure efficiency and effectiveness by optimizing available resources. The Director of Academic Operations plays a critical role in the AA administrative leadership team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides operational level service and support to the Office of Academic Affairs, by serving as a link between academic affairs and the centralized administrative services, including the business office and human resources.
- Manages and monitors budget allocations, projections, and performance of all academic departments and administrative units reporting to the provost including annual budget process for the division.
- Provides reports and analyses related to academic operations to facilitate decision making (e.g. productivity, faculty workloads and assignments).
- Manages and distributes all fulltime, adjunct and overload contracts including the collection of materials and data required to track faculty contractual arrangements.
- Develops and maintains systems for collecting, and analyses in support of academic effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Manages academic affairs staffing of all new positions. Prepare and process all hiring requests using the online applicant tracking system, Interview Exchange, for open positions and promotions.
- Manage correspondence (including preparing meeting minutes) to academic affairs sub-committee of the Board of Trustees.
- Support event planning efforts in concert with Conference/Events (commencement, convocation, opening of the year events, academic affair celebrations)
- Collaborate closely with leadership in Divisions of Student Affairs, Finance, Information Technology and other campus partners.
- Work with provost on special academic initiatives.
- Manage student workers assigned to office of academic
affairs.
Assist with all other functions of the office and related duties as requested by the Provost.

Requirements:
- Preferred master's degree in higher education administration, business management or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience within higher education environment, preferably within academic affairs environment requiring budget expertise.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office tools (Excel, Power Point and Word).
- Exhibits conscientious behavior with strong attention to detail and follow through.
- Brings strong motivation, positivity, collaboration, and service-orientation to the work endeavor.
- Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion.
- Displays professional maturity and judgment.
- Can work autonomously, as well as in teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
This position could, on occasion, require bending, reaching, ascending and descending stairs, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, seeing, talking, and hearing.
