Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 514981), to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline. They should be willing to learn new skills and able to handle multiple tasks in a collaborative team environment. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as excellent communication, organizational and laboratory skills.

The appointee will get involved in developing the LC-MS platform which are mainly targeted for metabolomics and lipidomics for infectious disease research. Experience in the LC-MS-based stable isotopic tracer experiment, metabolic flux analysis, cellular lipid function and metabolism, and molecular biology is preferred. Proficiency in using high resolution LC-MS instrument (e.g. Q-TOF or Orbitrap) would be an advantage. He/She should assist in establishing stable isotopic tracer experiment and metabolic flux analysis methodology; carrying out the stable isotopic tracer experiments/metabolic flux application in viral infected biological samples, and collaborate with other lab members to carry out viral or biological validations under the supervision of the Professor and Postdoctoral lab scientists.
