The University of Southern Indiana, Teacher Education Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Education. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2022.

Minimum qualifications include: 1) doctoral degree in Elementary Education or closely related field; ABD considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date. 2) a minimum of 3-years, full time teaching experience at the elementary level (grades K-6) or special education in a classroom setting (specify grade levels).

Include details in the letter of application, list in curriculum vitae, and attach license if any of the following pertain to you: experience in reading, special education, early childhood education, and/or administrative experience.

Responsibilities include: Teaching courses designed for education majors at the undergraduate level with opportunities to teach in the Master of Science in Education and Doctor of Education programs; advising students; service on dissertation committees as well as chair dissertations; engaging in service-related activities including participation in departmental, college, and university meetings and committees and professional organizations; and, initiating and collaborating in research and grant activities leading to scholarly presentations and publications.
