The University of Newcastle stands as a global Top 200 University with a vision to be a world leading University for our regions. The Looking Ahead Strategic Plan 2020-2025 captures the spirit of looking to the future to imagine and then realise possibilities, enabled by the values of excellence, equity, engagement and sustainability.

The College of Human and Social Futures is dynamic, unique and research-intensive with a diverse range of disciplines across its four Schools. Extending across traditional, emerging and cross-disciplinary fields of knowledge, the College pursues discoveries and education through real-world, practical experience and teachings, to contribute to shaping and improving our society.

With both AACSB and EQUIS accreditations, the Newcastle Business School is poised for growth and increased connectivity to the local, national and global business community while forming an integral part of the College. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, there is now an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative academic leader with a demonstrated track record in engagement and the capability to work closely with diverse stakeholders, across the School, College, University and with Government and industry.

As Dean and Head of School, you will work closely with the leadership group of the School, College and colleagues across the University to develop and deliver on strategic objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity and innovation. The breadth of this senior leadership role will cover the oversight of innovative teaching practice and program development, the facilitation of interdisciplinary research projects and the development of partnerships with the local Newcastle business community.

Your proven track record of scholarly achievement and demonstrated transformational leadership and management skills should be complemented by an ability to inspire, with substantial evidence of successful industry and stakeholder engagement.

If you are seeking a significant leadership role where you can make real and authentic impact by working as a part of a dynamic and goal-oriented team, then we would like to talk to you.
