  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to support the operation of tutoring services.
  • Excellent customer service with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Experience providing tutorial and/or learning support services to students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of University Tutorial Services, the Tutoring Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day administrative operations for content-specific appointment-based and drop-in tutoring services.

Tutoring Operations and Procedures 40%
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of tutoring in selected subject areas; ensure the services run smoothly, meeting the needs of face-to-face and online students in a timely and professional manner.
  • Create and manage tutor schedules; ensure staffing is appropriate to meet student needs. Ensure that program schedules and changes are kept up-to-date on the website and in the tutor tracking system.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the work schedule for tutors; maintain a log of absences and schedule changes. Ensure tutors complete and submit online timesheets by the due date. Approve timesheets bi-weekly.
  • Recruit, select, train, and evaluate qualified tutors. Oversee the onboarding employment process for new hires.
  • Supervise tutors; provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure quality in tutoring sessions.
  • Facilitate the training and professional development of tutors in line with College Reading and Learning Center ( CRLA ) standards and practices.
  • Ensure tutoring sessions are accurately recorded in the tracking system.
  • Manage tutor resources including equipment and technology.
Student and Customer Service 35%
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of tutoring services front desk. Hire, train, and supervise front desk staff.
  • Promote and create a welcoming, inclusive, and collegial learning environment at the tutoring center; assist tutors and students as needed.
  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries about the center and its services, record concerns as required, and seek an informal resolution that is satisfactory to all parties; escalate concerns to the supervisor when appropriate.

  • Represent the Student Learning Center as a member of committees; participate actively in student-focused and community-oriented campus activities.
  • Actively participate in Student Learning Center staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
