Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting using near vision use for reading and computer use for extended periods of time
  • Lifting (approximately 20 to 30 pounds), bending, and other physical exertion

  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • This position will be based on our campus in MA, with the possibility to have a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. The selected candidate will need to be on campus as business needs require. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA, CT, MA, MD, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT).

Position Description
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of recruiting, admission, events, and programs related to Quantum Science and Engineering Ph.D. program
  • Oversee the progress of, and act as an advising resource to, graduate students in Quantum Science and Engineering Ph.D. program
  • Review program goals, policy, curriculum, and program requirements and make recommendations for improvement
  • Advance HQI’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging by overseeing strategies to broaden participation from underrepresented groups in QSE; develop a supportive ecosystem of proactive mentoring, advising, and professional development to enable all students to achieve their full potential
  • Partner with faculty to develop coursework in quantum science and engineering at the graduate and undergraduate level; participate in production of online educational modules
  • Develop partnerships with academic institutions and industry to advance the educational mission of the Harvard Quantum Initiative
  • Develop events, programs, and communications related to scientific outreach in quantum science and engineering (QSE)
  • Serve as Project Coordinator and/or Education Director for HQI grant-funded projects focused on education and outreach
  • Develop reports and analyze statistics pertaining to course development, teaching effort, student progress, grant-funded projects, and diversity, inclusion, and belonging goals
  • May provide ongoing training and documentation
  • May act as representative of the HQI education programs at the department or school level
