Senior Community Relations & Special Events Associate - Cancer Prevention



Job Duties
  • Manage the theater outreach program for the OOHD Organizes and communicates with outside stakeholders and community leaders, works on collaborations.
  • Assist with grant application planning.
  • Review and collaborate on literature for OOHD programs and events.
  • Manage and assist with the coordination and set up of community events and meetings. Maintains relationships with OOHD community outreach organizations and vendors (actors, churches, community centers) Helps with grant writing efforts of NIH, NCI, and CPRIT institutes.
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
  • Analyze project goals, plan schedule of deadlines for project completion, and develop action plan and process for project completion from inception to evaluation.
  • Coordinate efforts between various stakeholders; coordinate project activities; assign tasks and provide guidance to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the project.
  • Develop, recommend and implement necessary improvements and changes.
  • Prepare or participate in the preparation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals.
  • Prepare research protocols and operations and procedure manuals for the conduct of community engagement activities.
  • Manage and review reports and record of activities to ensure progress is made toward specified program objectives and participates in the preparation of evaluation reports.
  • Assist in writing, editing and proofreading a wide range of materials, including training materials, video scripts, reports, patient and public educational materials, digital content, multi-media presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with others, within and outside the DLDCCC, to implement produced resources and materials.
  • Coordinate interagency and interdepartmental meetings in order to cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the OOHD’s Theater Outreach Program and support related educational and outreach activities.
  • Work effectively with other OOHD members to develop educational programs, engagement efforts or other project activities.
  • Support other OOHD community outreach and education activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree and two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Outreach or community health experience.
