Position Summary: The Director of Admission and Recruitment serves as a key member of the enrollment team, and is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive admissions and recruitment program for the college.

Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:

Manages the admissions functions, including planning, organizing, and implementing an effective recruiting, admissions, and enrollment plan; supervises admissions enrollment activities; coordinates functions with other college staff, ensuring compliance with college policies and state and federal regulations

Oversees the management of student admissions records, ensuring record security and confidentiality; advises and enforces college policies relating to admissions; prepares college enrollment reports

Serves on college committees, recommends and enforces standards regarding admissions; meets and corresponds with students to resolve admissions concerns; prepares and administers the budget; authorizes admissions of international students; and organizes prospective student campus visits

Provides supervision and leadership for admissions and recruitment staff and oversees daily operations

Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive student recruitment program to meet the enrollment goals of the college, including new high school graduates and adult learners, readmitted students, internationals students, transfer students, and special populations

Compiles key admissions data, analyzes trends and outcomes, and recommends new approaches and strategies to college leadership

Develops and maintains admission policies and practices consistent with the college’s mission, vision, and values

Oversees the department technology and software systems in collaboration with technology services and other system users; establishes and maintains an efficient and effective process for recruitment and application document processing

Participates in college-wide meetings, committees, training and events as required

Performs other related duties as assigned

Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education

Four years related professional experience

Preference may be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures

Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of student recruitment and admissions practices

Knowledge of management practices and principles

Skill in listening to issues, synthesizing information, and reaching sound conclusions

Skill in presenting ideas and concepts orally and in writing

Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner

Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations

Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail

Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment

Ability to effectively identify, analyze and resolve problems, to use independent judgment and decision-making processes to take appropriate action, and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information
