Job Description:
- Provide management for small projects assigned to the Quick
Response Team. Projects include
carpet/tile removal and replacement, minor asbestos abatement, non-asbestos re-insulation, small
mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and space renovation projects. Responsibilities include monitoring
projects and gathering, soliciting, and distributing project status reports. Oversees the management of
projects by handling and processing work orders, cost estimates, bid documents (as appropriate, best
analysis, bid award recommendations), invoices, change orders, inspections, outages, and completion
certification.
- Project Manager for development, design and construction of UF
Minor projects designed by
outside consultants; work including developing design programs, cost estimates and budgets; carrying
out feasibility studies for projects; develop and maintain project files. Coordinate meetings between
users and consultants; provide as-built drawings to consultants; arrange for site access; coordinate 50%,
100% and Bid Issue review comments; develop and enforce project schedule; coordinate and arrange
delivery of bid documents, advertisements for bidders, pre-bid meetings and bid openings; make
recommendations for bid awards and approve and process pay requests; approve and process change
orders; attend regularly scheduled construction meetings.
- Prepares estimates for carpet and tile. Assists in preparation
of estimates for work designed by
Project Design Architect for work orders to be accomplished by either in-house personnel or be
contractor as needed.
- Prepares of itemized material and labor estimates for routine
work orders accomplished by in-house
personnel as needed.
- Drives state vehicle.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director.
$55,000 annually
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid class "E" driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of maintenance and construction procedures to assure effective definition of job.
• Accuracy of calculations for estimates.
• Skills in working with all types of vendors and customers to resolve questions and problems.
• Ability to expeditiously process a large volume of work estimates.
• Knowledge of procedures and methods used in repairing and maintaining buildings, management techniques,
testing and inspection procedures.
• Skill in repairing and maintaining buildings, reading technical drawings and reports.
• Ability to oversee contractors and in-house workers, utilize problem solving techniques; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures, communicate
in verbal and written modes.
• Knowledge of computer software and ability to develop cost estimates using Means Construction Guide or similar product.
• Knowledge of the project billing process and procedure.
