Lecturer, Director of Writing Center – English:

Dothan, AL

 

Job Summary

The Lecturer, Director of Writing Center position in English is responsible for teaching 12 semester hours in a ten-month calendar year, with schedule and courses assigned by the Associate Chair of the English Department on the Dothan Campus in conjunction with the Chair of English on the Troy campus; teaching course overloads (if applicable) as determined by the Academic Operating Procedure, Adjunct Faculty and Full-Time Faculty Teaching Load and/or Overload Standards; developing and managing the Writing Center on the Dothan campus, with assistance from the Associate Chair of English in Dothan; training tutors; helping/tutoring students; setting up workshops and seminars; securing supplies; tracking data for the Writing Center; maintaining appropriate weekly office hours (to be determined by the Dean of CCFA) during the Fall and Spring semesters, and Summer term if applicable; regularly advising students when needed, especially during designated registration days during the AY; participating in the regular business of the English department on the Dothan campus, such as attending meetings and departmental functions, supporting recruiting efforts, and supporting department’s educational mission as it relates to the college and university goals and objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English
