Job Summary

The Coordinator, Development Operations develops and implements a range of events, programs, and services that support the development team’s fundraising efforts within University Advancement.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Develops, plans and implements events, meetings, and activities to support donor cultivation. This also includes: coordination of event logistics, creating invitations, developing mailing list criteria and data clean up, scheduling facilities and support services, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison with internal teams to drive projects to completion.
  • Creates gift agreements documenting donor’s gift level and intentions, and drives the approval process for the team.
  • Composes donor communications and event briefings.
  • Acts as project manager for fundraising events and initiatives
  • Assists in the development of new donor fundraising initiatives/events.
  • Creates and maintains a master calendar to track all events on a two-year cycle. Proactively reaches out to internal teams to ensure key events are scheduled well in advance.
  • Attends donor cultivation, engagement, and Stewardship events.
Other Duties
  • Assists with day-to-day office operation including greeting visitors to the Foundation office and/or helping cover the main phone line as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field.
  • Two years of professional full-time experience with project management, event management, or other relevant experience.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field.
  • Work experience in a higher education setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the principles and best practices of philanthropy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships with a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and implement events.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Ability to travel locally and throughout the state.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
Salary: $41,900 to Negotiable
