The Residence Hall Operations team welcomes our student residents who come from a wide array of backgrounds and identities. We create seamless and easy procedures to support positive experiences for our student residents. We run all of the logistics for our student residence halls, hosting their home away from home! TheResidence Hall Operations & University Services Specialistmanages the day-to-day operations of the Residence Life Office, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment and providing services to students. In addition, this position administers theResidential Management System (RMS) – MercurySoftware,setting up software templates and ensuring the integrity of student data. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage student sign up and room selection processes, assigning resident students to rooms and meal plans with the goal that all students are provided the opportunity to participate fully in the residential experience. This includes:
    • Collaborating with theOffice of Student Accessibility and Accommodations,and individual students, to ensure residents with medical accommodations are assigned to spaces that fit their accommodations.
    • Managing the Family Housing waitlist.
    • Working withInternational Student Admissionsstaff to place new, international students into rooms.
  • Coordinate Housing and Meal Plan assignments and billing and manage all billing and credits related to room bookings, meal plans bookings, cancellations, and room damages.
  • Hire, train and schedule student staff, ensuring the office is adequately staffed during regular business hours and special events like Housing Sign Up, opening, etc.
  • Conduct regular training on roles and responsibilities including customer service expectations that are inclusive.
  • Maintain and Administer the Residential Management System (RMS). This includes building and updating templates, ensuring interfaces are running, maximizing use of the software to improve processes and collaborating with other departments to upgrade the system as needed.
  • Co-Manage Summer Conference Housing Program,collaborating to provide housing for summer camps and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree.Four years of full-time, professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of full-time professional experience. Customer service experience.
  • Experience as an administrator of specialized software.
  • Experience modifying business practices to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Google suite of products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using computer applications such as Banner andRMS
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using data information systems that work together to automate processes.
  • Experience in higher education and specifically student housing.
