Job Summary:
The Campus Safety Officer serves by providing campus-wide public safety for college faculty, staff, students and visitors in coordination with local law enforcement and emergency personnel. Duties include patrolling campus property while enforcing safety regulations. While on patrol, responsibilities include the following:
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission and values; and contribute to the development of the Plant & Facilities Operations Department.
  • Conduct regular patrols of campus property, observe and report suspicious or criminal activity and enforce safety regulations.
  • Respond to emergency situations, take action necessary to resolve issues and obtain essential information for reporting purposes.
  • Assess, identify and resolve possible hazards and/or potential problems or malfunctions (i.e., lighting, fire safety, mechanical equipment, etc.).
  • Providing exceptional customer service to the campus community.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience.
