The Graduate Assistant for Community Standards (GACS) supports the Office of Community Standards by managing administrative details including administrative meetings, program development and direct student engagement. A major part of the GACS is to support the living and learning community of Emerson College by living in residence and providing support, resources, and educational opportunities for students residing in Emerson's residence halls.

The Graduate Assistant for Community Standards (GACS) is responsible for managing a small caseload of administrative hearings, planning and organizing conduct boards, coordinating and implementing educational opportunities for students living on or off campus, and providing direct support and guidance to students living within Emerson's residential communities. With guidance from the Director of Community Standards and in partnership with Housing and Residential Education the GACS will work to build and implement programs based in conflict management, medication, restorative practices and College policies to enhance the overall educational experience and knowledge base of Emerson Students.

The GACS assists in the development and implementation of Conduct Board training and continuing educational opportunities.The GACS will also support the primary on-call team and will be responsible for some night and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned administrative cases including, case creation, outreach, and adjudication
  
• Develop and implement programs and educational opportunities for students (including student staff) based in conflict management, mediation, restorative practices and policy clarification.
  
• Coordinate and support Conduct Boards, including but not limited to booking, scheduling, and information sharing for Resolution Panels, Conduct Boards and PBIV Sanction Panels.
  
• Assist in the development and implementation of annual training and continued educational opportunities for those serving on the Conduct Board and PBIV Sanction Panels.
  
• Work collaboratively with relevant programs, departments, and offices including, Student Transitions, Student Engagement and Leadership, Student Care and Support, Intercultural Student Affairs etc to enhance Community Standards outreach and support.
  
• Cultivate strong relationships with students, faculty, staff
  
• Serve in the primary responder role after hours and on weekends as needed.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20.00

Salary: $16,848.00
