Position: Full-Time Lecturer, Counseling Psychology
Effective Date: August 17, 2022 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related discipline. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2022.
• Demonstrated experience providing counseling or mental health services
• Demonstrated potential for effectiveness and excellence in teaching at the college level
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of a current clinical license (psychologist, marriage and family therapist, licensed professional clinical counselor, or social work) from the State of California
• Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring college students from ethnically and culturally diverse groups (e.g., application of culturally responsive pedagogy, pedagogical content knowledge related to needs of students from underrepresented groups, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience teaching counseling courses such as family therapy and play therapy
• Experience as a clinical supervisor
• Demonstrated experience providing counseling or therapy with diverse clientele/communities
• Experience working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body

Duties:

• Teach core courses in the Counseling Psychology program and provide clinical supervision at our on-site clinic. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
• Actively engage in program-related service activities such as program coordination, student advising, and admissions at the master's level.
• Work collaboratively with other faculty members
• Maintain an in-office work schedule aligned with department workload (following CSULB repopulation guidelines).
