Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder's Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs team encourages applications for a Senior Program Manager, Annual Giving and Stewardship. This position is responsible for supporting the planning, logistics, and coordination of special programs, projects, and events for the development department of Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs (PG-BAP). The Senior Program Manager serves as primary contact and support for the Parent Fund, Parent Leadership Society and Chancellor's Parent Leadership Society Board, annual communication and solicitation efforts, and serves as part of the department's administrative team. This position works with the Managing Senior Director of Development for Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs to develop and manage program budgets and acts as the Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs representative on appropriate task forces and committees.

Who We Are

The Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs office is a comprehensive development office that helps current and past CU parents, alumni and friends philanthropically support CU Boulder in a way that is most meaningful to them. The office has helped increase charitable giving from $2 to $12 million over the past 10 years in support of Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Undergraduate Education, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Civic Engagement, Athletics and many of our Colleges and Schools.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  1. Responsible for all aspects of 12–24-month communication and annual giving solicitation calendar for the Parent Fund and Parent Leadership Society.
  2. Lead the PG-BAP’s Stewardship Program which includes the development of an annual stewardship strategy for the PG-BAP office in coordination with the PG-BAP unit leader and Donor Relations. Implement efficient and detailed stewardship practices to connect donors with the impact of their giving. Work with appropriate partners to complete major donor stewardship touches, such as impact reports and gifts. Coordinate with campus partners and PG-BAP team to steward all scholarship donors.
  3. Handles large data sets for specialized research and analysis.
  4. Acts as the lead writer for broad messaging and specialized communication for office constituents.
  5. Manage CPLS board activities, including the onboarding and offboarding of new CPLS board members and all board communications. Build the Parent Giving presentations for board meetings in conjunction with the PG-BAP and Program Manager, Events colleagues.
  6. Coordinate with development officers in the BAP office and campus partners to connect with donors about Endowment Statement Reports (ESRs) and fund distribution as it relates to underused endowments.
  7. Lead acknowledgment process, including rewriting acknowledgment letters and special acknowledgments.
  8. Acts as liaison with multiple campus partners to ensure continuity of message, and calendar alignment.
  9. Performs administrative tasks which may consist of correspondence, composing and maintaining external lists, internal documents and processes.
  10. Acts as liaison to University contacts, vendors, donors, volunteers, and others as related to assigned programs/projects.
  11. Follows guidelines from the unit leader regarding budgeted expenses associated with subject program. Reviews "budget-to-actual" status on a monthly basis and advises management of any significant concerns. Reviews efficiency of program and makes suggestions for modification and improvement.
  12. Uses appropriate databases for creating lists, tracking program participants, and managing donor recognition.

What We Can Offer
  • The salary range is $61,000 - $68,000 annually.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in project management required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience planning and managing a communications, annual giving and stewardship program.
What You Will Need
  • Expert ability to establish and improve interpersonal relationships, including ability to coordinate and manage volunteers.
  • Expert communications skill both oral and written.
  • Expert technical ability and skills to analyze and manage large sets of data.
  • Manage multiple tasks and set priorities in fast paced environment.
  • Solid ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and discretion, maintain confidentiality and collaborate with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Solid knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database management software.
  • Solid ability to effectively manage third party relationships.
  • Digital literacy required, especially as related to Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; database management software.
