Description

Fordham University Graduate School of Education’s APA-Accredited Counseling Psychology Program which is housed within the Division of Psychological & Educational Services (PES) invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position (non-tenure track) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for a 9- month appointment with opportunities for multi-year re-appointments after the first two years. We seek individuals with relevant clinical and supervisory experience from diverse backgrounds who are committed to providing excellent, ethically informed, and culturally sensitive training to graduate students in counseling psychology and mental health counseling.

 

Responsibilities

  1. The Clinical Faculty position requires someone who is competent to teach advanced practicum and clinical assessment courses for doctoral students.
  2. Teach a 3-3 course load each academic year.
  3. Coordinate the clinical training of counseling psychology doctoral students and serve as the liaison between the program and internship and externship sites.
  4. Participate in doctoral externship consortium meetings.
  5. Assist doctoral students in applying for and securing clinical externships and internships.
  6. Consult on clinical issues with doctoral and master’s students.
  7. Provide academic course advisement.
  8. Co-coordinate doctoral and master’s admissions.
  9. Consult on clinical matters related to students’ clinical training.
  10. Assist in accreditation-related activities.
  11. Engage in recruitment and registration activities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology or related field.
  • Be licensed or be eligible for licensing as a psychologist in the State of New York.
  • At least three years of teaching experience in teaching graduate-level courses

  • Understanding of professional and scholarly collaboration within diverse and interdisciplinary contexts.
