The School of Accounting in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in fall 2022. This faculty member will teach data analytics at the graduate level and may teach taxation at the graduate and/or undergraduate level. Candidates must have a record demonstrating excellence in teaching accounting information systems/data analytics. Candidates must hold a doctorate (or must have earned a doctorate before the start date) and must have completed at least 18 graduate hours of accounting coursework. Professional experience and CPA certification are strongly preferred.


The School will consider applicants from all research areas, with a preference for behavioral research. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated record of publishing in top-tier and sectional-level academic accounting journals and a desire to participate in doctoral education.


The teaching load for this position is three courses per year. Salary and benefits are highly competitive, and funding is available to support research, including data and conference travel. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, university, and community is expected. A demonstrated and ongoing commitment to serving diverse student populations and experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.
