The Department of Poultry Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University is accepting applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track (non-tenure) Lecturer position with a 9-month academic appointment (90% teaching/10% service appointment) with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022.
The incumbent will work closely with other Department of Poultry
Science faculty to deliver courses in the undergraduate curriculum.
This position will contribute to the advancement of our
undergraduate teaching programs and the enhancement of our distance
learning and outreach capabilities. Instructional
responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate
courses in the fields associated with the Department’s programs in
Poultry Science. The successful candidate is expected to prepare
and teach up to three Poultry Science courses per semester. The
incumbent will assist with the Poultry Judging course and
collegiate team and be active in recruiting undergraduates at
poultry judging events for the Department of Poultry Science, which
will require occasional travel. The incumbent may also be expected
to serve as an advisor for undergraduate Poultry Science student
organizations/clubs.
The Department of Poultry Science is a comprehensive poultry
science program with academic, research, and service components
spanning the full range from modern poultry management to the most
cutting-edge biotechnology.
An M.S. degree in Poultry Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science with either three years of practice in the field or special licensure or certification in the field that is supportive of the teaching goals of the program is preferred. Evidence of outstanding teaching or a strong indication of teaching potential in the Poultry Science discipline is required. Evidence of excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) and strong leadership and team-building skills.
