Summary:
Program Specialist
VCU School of Social Work is hiring a full-time masters level program specialist for a one year grant funded youth and young adult shared housing program for LGBTQ+ youth, pregnant and parenting youth and youth at the intersection experiencing homelessness.
Typical Duties
This staff member will work with 5 program participants to assess their needs in order to get into permanent housing and access the resources necessary to support goal achievement. The case specialist will work with the program participants individually and in peer support groups to support them in achieving their goals that promote stability. The case specialist will conduct re-certifications with youth every 3 months. The person in this position will also be responsible for tasks related to administrative oversight of the program and the supervision of 2 full time staff members and social work interns as well as serve as a liaison between the program and program partners.

Typical Education and Experience
Requirements:
MSW plus 2 years post-MSW practice experience
Basic computer literacy – Microsoft Office
Mediation skills
Experience and high level of comfort working with LGBTQ+ youth, pregnant/parenting youth, and/or youth of color
Preferred Qualifications:
Lived experience expertise regarding homelessness
Familiarity with Richmond area & local resources
Experience and/or training in trauma-informed care or restorative practices
Salary Range: $65,000 annual salary, non-negotiable, grant funded
