Job Description:
Job location is in Ona, FL at Range Cattle Research and Education Center (RCREC). Responsibilities include:
To collect, record, verify, and analyze data/information from background information, available hydrologic data sources Florida; and to conduct analysis for hydrologic assessments. Produce reports, publications and related documents.
Coordinate, supervise, and conduct hydrologic modelling simulations (calibration, verification) and modelling scenarios to improve water quantity and quality. The use of programming and simulation tools, spreadsheets, databases, and other software will be required to analyze and tabulate data.
Perform various tasks following specific instructions from the supervisor. These tasks will include, but are not limited to data analysis, simulation, calibration and verification of the models, design and analysis of alternative scenarios such as best management practices and their impacts on water quantity and quality of the system under existing and future climate change.
Expected Salary: 44,700.00 Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the field of hydrology and water quality.
Strong experience and interest in working with hydrological modelling.
Experience and strong interest in quantitative skills in GIS as well as knowledge of programing
An interest, commitment, and aptitude for research in the field
