Job Description:

Hodges University is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated candidate to serve as a Full-Time Faculty or Program Director (Depending on Qualifications) of the Thelma T. Hodges Nursing Program.

Hodges University is a private, not-for-profit, regionally accredited university located in southwest Florida and primarily serves working adult students. The Fort Myers Campus boasts a newly renovated state-of-the-art Health Sciences facility that includes smart classrooms, and  nursing skills and simulation labs, with diverse high-fidelity manikins and equipment.

The University is regionally accredited by SACSCOC and approved as a Level III institution offering associate, baccalaureate, and master's degrees. The BSN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). 



  1. A master's degree in nursing from an institutionally accredited (or equivalent) institution of higher education (e.g., MSN, MA in Nursing).
  2. Practice experience as a nurse clinician.
  3. Two years college teaching experience is preferred.
  4. Current and unrestricted professional nurse license issued and/or recognized by the State of Florida. 
  5. Demonstrated working knowledge and compliance with the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) standards.


*** In addition to those above you must have the following:

  1. Sustained membership in professional nursing organizations.
  2. Evidence of sustained professional development, professional service, professional scholarship, and advocacy in nursing.
  3. A doctoral degree with a major in nursing (e.g., DNP, DNS, PhD in Nursing) for the Program Director position.
