Job Description

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce an opening for a Program Manager I, Student Support Services. The position will serve as a Program Manager in the Department of Medicine reporting to the Vice Chair of Medicine Medical Education office, provide coordination of the Fellowship Program Coordinators duties and processes, and will be assigned a fellowship(s) of their own to support. The Program Manager will provide support to the other Fellowship Coordinators in the department. This position reports to the Vice Chair of Medical Education for the Department of Medicine.

The Department of Medicine's mission is to provide the best care to patients; create an excellent educational experience for students, residents, and fellows; and advance the understanding of human illness and disease through creative and collaborative research.

The Department offers outstanding facilities and a dedicated team of physicians, scientists, nurses and staff members committed to advancement in terms of scientific achievement, clinical service and medical education in 10 core divisions.

As the Program Manager, this person will supervise other fellowship coordinators in the department. This requires supervisory duties related to payroll, performance management, goal setting and support of others daily activities.

This position will monitor and provide guidance and training to other coordinators and work within the larger Departmental team to ensure success of the programs while providing operational support in the absence of a coordinator on the team.

The position will review, analyze, and prepare fellowship goals; work closely with Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Mentors concerning policy and procedures; develop effective working relationships with other departments such as Graduate Medical Education, Hospital HR, SOM HR and external entities; assume the leadership role in the Fellowship Program; and manage a variety of special projects as assigned.

Additionally, this position will plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of fellowship division conferences including but not limited to; generating and tracking all necessary paperwork for approval, provide support and documentation of fellowship activities to previous, current, and future fellowship participants.

Salary

Salary Range: $47,476 - $56,936

Grade: GGS - 9E

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
