Reporting to the University Director of Global Education, the Assistant Director for Global Engagement works with various FDU constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to promote awareness of and engagement with the University’s global education mission, as well as a spirit of leadership and global citizenship at FDU .
The Assistant Director for Global Engagement has broad planning and operational responsibility for global learning events delivered on-campus, on-line, and off-campus (e.g., the United Nations), as well as for global learning outreach programs provided to local schools and organizations.
The Assistant Director for Global Engagement is responsible for developing operational budgets, marketing strategies, and assessment/evaluation methods, for each event or program, and sound fiscal management of income and expenditures for them, as well as for coordinating protocol, room reservations, transportation, facilities, media services, public safety, publicity, food services, and housing for each event as required. Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years administrative experience, preferably in an academic or multicultural environment, including office management and budget responsibilities and interfacing with multiple organizational units.
3. Fluency in a second language officially recognized by the United Nations (in addition to English) strongly preferred.
4. Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse international populations. Strong team building and networking skills.
6. Knowledge and understanding of event planning within an academic institution.
7. Demonstrated success managing program and event budgets.
8. Demonstrated ability to coordinate special projects and events.
9. Ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, foreign visitors, and the community.

10.Strong problem-solving ability and organizational skills. Well organized, independent, and collaborative in carrying out responsibilities.
11. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to compile data accurately, prioritize, coordinate several events simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
12. Proficiency with computer systems for word processing, spreadsheet, data management and basic graphic design, website content and social media platform management and PDF editing.

13. Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a car for travel between campuses and within the NY/NJ metro area.

14.Valid passport and availability for occasional international travel.
15. Willingness and ability to work nonstandard hours, including some evening and weekend hours, as needed. This may include summer periods.

16. Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
17. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card or proof of authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Hours Worked
