We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and professional individual to join our team to lead the College's enrollment and student affairs division.

Reporting to the President, the Vice President provides vision, leadership and management of Academic Advising, Admissions, Financial Aid, Early College Programs, Registrar, Student Life, Veteran's Affairs, and Enrollment Management, and oversees the development and application of policies and procedures that affect LSSC's student body.

The Vice President facilitates the development and implementation of the College’s strategic enrollment management plan, promotes district-wide recruitment, retention and completion of initiatives, and collaborates with faculty, staff, administration, student organizations, and community groups to ensure all students have access to all resources.

The Vice President is also responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of learning, people, student success, forward thinking, commitment to excellence, accessibility, diversity, partnerships, and sound management practices.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Principal Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Leadership, Management, and Supervision : Understand and stay informed about current issues in higher education and the Florida College System. Demonstrate and promote high standards for quality, productivity, and service. Build and foster effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and other constituents, and lead collaborative processes to bring about shared understanding and positive change.

- Hire exceptional, best-fit talent and build a strong, cohesive team with an institutional and student-centered perspective in support of mission. Ensure that staff are properly trained and cross-trained and are developing to their full potential and supporting College goals. Align roles and assignments to meet team goals and deadlines. Examine existing processes and continuously seek improvements.

- Admissions: Collaborate with College partners (i.e. Academic Affairs, Institutional Advancement, Ahletics,) in developing and implementing strategies to successfully attract and enroll prospective students. Collaborate with external partners in developing and implementing strategies that successfully build a recruitment funnel to support short and long-term enrollment objectives.

- Oversee the application review/selection process. Collaborate with the Executive Director Strategic Communication in planning and implementation of the enrollment communication plan (i.e. print, email, social and digital).

- Financial Aid : Establishes procedures and guidelines regarding the effective and efficient distribution of financial aid among eligible applicants and enrolled students, with central focus on meeting the College's enrollment and budget goals. Responsible for the administration of federal, state, and institutional programs. Ensures compliance with federal laws and regulations, state statutes and rules, and donor criteria in the awarding of funds, including Title IV of the Higher Education Act, and other related legislation. Provides oversight for financial aid audits.

- Records : Directs and coordinates the records and registration programs of the College by supervising college admissions, student records, registration enrollments, and graduation. Provide technical direction to staff and information to students pertaining to Admissions and Records guidelines, policies and reporting regulations.

- Academic Advising : Oversee district-wide Academic Advising, Dual Enrollment, and the Early College program at the Villages High School. Develop. Implement and assess academic advising goals promoting student success services and activities that support the goals and mission of the College.

- Early College Programs : Develop, coordinate, and maintain all Early College Programs, including, but not limited to, Kid's College, Dual Enrollment Programs, and Youth Outreach programs. Develop relationships with community advisors and counselors to build enrollment and create pathways to enrollment as full-time Lake-Sumter State College student following high school graduation.

- Student Life : Oversee the district-wide student life program that enriches the learning experience, encourages civic engagement, provides leadership development opportunities, and supports student success.

- Strategic Planning : As a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, coordinates the creation and implementation of a strategic plan for academic advising, recruitment, retention, financial aid, Student Life, and admissions and records functional areas.

- Directs the preparation of departmental budgets, capital equipment and technology requests, and supervises departmental compliance with college budgetary procedures.

- Serves on the President's Executive Leadership Team, institutional and FCS committees as required.

- Perform other duties as assigned..


Minimum Education: Master's Degree (M. A.) from an accredited institution in a related field is required; A Doctorate is preferred.

Minimum Experience: 10+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience in Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, Student Life or related area required.

At least five (5) years experience in a senior leadership role is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population.

- Experience in enrollment management best practices.

- Ability to plan, organize, supervise and motivate a group of professional and clerical personnel.

- Knowledge of Ellucian/Banner ERP.

- Experience in financial aid management, and knowledge of Title IV and Florida Statute rules and procedures.

- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles.

- Ability to travel.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Suite.

- Ability to review and assess performance using data analytics.
